Quite possibly the single most powerful weapon in the Fenton arsenal, the ecto-skeleton is a mechanized battle armor, apparently intended for fighting ghosts. According to the episode Reign Storm, the suit boosts the user's natural strength 100 times. Apparently this applies not only to the physical strength of the pilot, but also to energy strength, as Danny uses the suit to devastating effect against the massive army guarding Pariah's keep.

The suit presumably has a considerable built-in armament, since Jack probably never intended for anyone other than a human to use it. Given the energy beams deployed by the suit are a white-blue color instead of Danny's traditional green, the Gadget Expert theorizes that Danny's ghostly power was being channeled through the suit's control interface, where the energy is then amplified and deployed via the suit's weaponry. Among the assumed armament is a finger-mounted explosive pellet weapon, some form of energy cannon in one or likely both hands, and a shield generator.

The only serious flaw in the suit is its "neural receptors", presumably a form of neurological direct interface with the suit for operating it. Using the suit drains the pilot's own energy "like a battery", and it's said that it could kill the pilot. Just the incomplete legs of the suit are enough to render Jack weak and dazed for much of the movie, and it very nearly kills Danny in his fight against Pariah.

However, Danny blacking out does give Vlad just the chance he was looking for to steal the suit, eventually upgrading it to the [Ecto-Skeleton Mk-II].
