Additional Information
Quite clearly inspired by the design of Jack's Ghost Gloves, the Gauntlets have only appeared in The Ultimate Enemy thus far. Why Vlad originally built the devices is a mystery, the movie fails to tell us if he had them already, or if he built them specifically for the operation that ultimately led to Danny's evil future self. A tool that can seperate the ghost half from a hybrid could be quite useful to an archvillain, so we may see them again.
Given their resemblence to the Ghost Gloves, coupled with Danny's remark in the movie to his evil future self about remembering his family and the Gauntlets, the devices may in fact be the Ghost Gloves, perhaps taken with Danny to Wisconsin after the Nasty Burger explosion and later modified by Vlad. Since the Gauntlets are apparently excellent close-combat weapons as well as surgical tools, this is quite possibly the case.
